Pork stew with sweet peppers

Ingredients for 6 servings:

800 grams of pork (ham or shoulder) *
2 medium onions
3 large sweet peppers (500 g in an amount in a purified state)
800 g tomatoes in their own juice
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Preparation:

* You can prepare this dish and beef – in this case, will have to simmer longer, until tender meat.
The meat cut into small pieces. Onions cut into half rings and pepper – julienne.

In a saucepan with a thick bottom over high heat, warm up the 2 tbsp vegetable oil. Portions fry meat until golden brown, 3-4 minutes on each portion. Passed on to the plate.

Reduce heat to medium. Put the onions in the pan. Fry, stirring, about 5 minutes.

Add the peppers and fry, stirring, for 5 minutes.

Put in a pan the meat, mashed tomatoes with juice, salt and pepper to taste. Pour 250 ml hot water.

Please be on high heat to a boil, then reduce the flame to a minimum, cover the pan with a lid and simmer until the meat is tender, about an hour.

Serve with potatoes, rice or vegetable side dish.
