Excellent presentation of sliced ​​potatoes with garlic, thyme and bacon.

This is one of those dishes that looks unusual, but actually it is quite simple to do and is not even necessary to clean the potatoes!


2 kg red potatoes
5-6 strips of bacon – cut into pieces
5 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
10 cloves of garlic mash
1-2 tablespoons (optional) Olive oil
3 sprigs thyme
Salt and black pepper


Preheat oven to 170 °

Mix 5 tablespoons olive oil, lemon juice and garlic paste into a large bowl.

Thoroughly wash the potatoes. Thinly slice the potatoes, the best result will give a special grater. (About 1 millimeter) Now spread all the potatoes in the olive oil mixture until evenly coated. Arrange the potato slices (accordion) 25 cm baking dish. Bake for 1 hour.

Take out of the oven. Coated with 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the tops of the potato slices.

The bacon and thyme place between the potato slices. Generously sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Return to the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the potatoes are completely ready. Potatoes should be soft in the middle and crispy on the outside edges.
