Easter cake with nuts

On the eve of Easter, I share with you another recipe of Easter cakes. It turns out fragrant, very soft and amazingly delicious. Number of ingredients shown on a big cake and may be proportionally increased.


500 g flour
30 g fresh yeast (as it will dry – do not know)
180ml milk
100 g butter
5 egg yolks
70 g raisins
70 g walnuts
1/2 tsp lemon peel
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg and cardamom
Sugar 100 g
2 tablespoons cognac
1/4 tsp salt
vanilla on the tip of a knife


Cooking brew. To this heated milk (it should not be hot – just warm), crumble the yeast into it, add 1 tbsp sugar and one-third of the flour, stir until smooth and put in a warm place for 20 minutes.

Whisk egg yolks with sugar until white.

Add the vanilla, brandy and melted butter, stir until smooth. Add the resulting mass in the brew, stir, add the zest, spices and the remains of flour, knead well.

Put the dough come in a warm place for about an hour – the volume should be doubled.

Coming up and punched the dough interfere with it raisins and chopped walnuts 3/4.

Spread on the forms, filling them half-maximum. Leave for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining nuts.

Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for 35 minutes, then reduce temperature to 160 degrees and bake another 25 minutes. Of the finished cake wooden splinter should come out dry.

We take out the cake from the mold, sprinkle top with powdered sugar and put on the rack to cool.
